Major Slow Response Related Fixes are Coming | Other Bug Fixes | Here is What’s Been Done So Far

For the upcoming Pilot 9E subsequent release my focal point is performance and more bug fixes (and potentially more orbitiny-screenshot-grabber features).

Having said that, here is what’s been done so far.

  • Fixed slow response and UI freezing when the Delete key is pressed to clear selected items in the internal Clipboard Manager. This eventually will be spun off into an external application like it should be, it’s just that right now, I am focused on other components.
  • Fixed an intermittent slow response when displaying icon emblems on the desktop (and only on the desktop) when cut/copy is selected so right now it is as super fast and responsive.
  • Fixed slow response when a large number of files are selected in the file manager and when the Delete key is pressed.
  • Fixed an issue where some ASCII files were misidentified as non-ASCII and this lead to features such as file previews for ASCII files (in the right-hand preview pane in Qutiny) as well as searching inside files not to display / work properly.

I am not done yet with this upcoming release, I have more things on my list so stay tuned for updates but one thing is for sure, this new Pilot 9E is going to be a very smooth release (in terms of performance).
